Buick Truck
Buick was founded in 1903 by David Dunbar Buick and struggled as an independent car maker until it was taken over by a more successful competitor. The first Buick was produced for sale in 1904, the Model B of which there are two replicas in existence today. The company also manufactured trucks, including flatbeds from 1910 onwards and this continued until 1923.
After 1923, the Buick Company solely focused upon producing passenger cars and this continues to this day. The company does offer an SUV in the shape of the Rendezvous and the Enclave but does not produce pickup trucks. One iconic image of a Buick truck is provided by the 1960’s hit comedy show, The Beverley Hillbillies, with the Clampett family loading all their belongings onto their Buick truck and driving cross-country to California in the credits.
This is the closest any of us are likely to get to a Buick truck with no plans for the marquee to enter the truck market which is not considered a luxury sector of the market by Buick.
