Oldsmobile
Oldsmobile is a brand of automobile that was produced mostly by General Motors. When this brand was phased out it was the oldest American automobile brand in America. It was the first brand to be phased out in the 20th century.
In the 1980’s, Oldsmobile sales soared because of its reputation for having the high quality and reliable Rocket V8 engines. The Cutlass series was the top selling car in 1976. In 2000 General Motors decided to phase out the Oldsmobile brand. The Bravada SUV was the last new vehicle under the Oldsmobile brand.
The final 500 Aleros, Auroras, Bravadas, Silhouettes and Intrigues had special heritage emblems and markings that said "Final 500". All of these vehicles had a unique dark cherry metallic paint scheme. The final production day for Oldsmobile was April 29, 2004 and the last vehicle built was signed by all of the Olds assembly line workers and is on display in the RE Olds Transportation Museum.
