Toyota Truck
Toyota is the world’s largest car maker and operates worldwide with more than 310,000 employees and with a very heavy presence in North America. It also is a dominant force in the truck market since it launched the Tundra in 1999 (launched as a 2000 model). The Tundra is a full-size pickup truck and has cornered 16% of the market for its class.
Toyota also produces the Tacoma which has a smaller cab and chassis and a smaller engine than the Tundra. Both the Tacoma and Tundra are produced in the United States though the production of Tundra Trucks at the San Antonio plant in Texas is only for export to South America in a stark reverse of US jobs being exported rather than goods.
Outside of the US, Toyota also manufactures the HiLux which is closely related to the Tacoma with minor differences to cater for the markets in which it is sold.
