Nissan Datsun Truck

Nissan/ Datsun have made some of the most popular vehicles on the road today and their trucks are strong and durable. In 1960 Datsun introduced the first compact pickup in the US and had a sporty design and was easy to drive. In 1965 Datsun introduced the 520 and it became one of the top selling imported pickups in the US.

With the continued success of their small trucks they decided to become the first auto importer to manufacture pickups in the United States. They chose Smyrna Tennessee for their plant location. The first Nissan truck rolled off the assembly line in 1983.

In the late 70’s Nissan expanded and promoted the idea of how much work a truck can do by introducing the King Cab, which was the first extended cab pickup. Today they are still producing high quality pickups that come with a variety of options and styles.
