Saab has always been a leader in innovations and technology and is developing the world’s first hybrid convertible, which is a soft top edition of the 9-3 BioPower Hybrid Concept. It runs on a combination of bioethanol fuel and electricity. It has a turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder engine.

The engine is modified to run on pure E100 bioethanol fuel. This fuel produces zero carbon dioxide emission. In tandem with the electric motor the powertrain has stop and start capability.
